Costs and included quantities

£80 for up to ten items, then £5 per additional item. Explain unusual equipment or access needs before agreeing the standard price.

Does every appliance need annual PAT?

There is no blanket legal rule requiring annual PAT for every appliance. The equipment, use and environment inform a suitable maintenance and inspection approach.

Arranging the visit and report

Confirm access for each professional and the required report date. Combining services does not guarantee one simultaneous visit or the same turnaround for every output.

Official guidance: check the relevant requirements. Reviewed 8 November 2026.

Define the areas to be checked

PAT concerns portable electrical equipment, rather than the fixed wiring inspected in an EICR. Tell the team how and where the equipment is used.

Prepare the information

A standard request starts at £80 for up to ten items, then £5 per additional item. Confirm unusual equipment and access before relying on the standard price.

Review the findings and scope

The frequency of maintenance and testing depends on the equipment and its environment. There is no universal legal rule requiring annual PAT for every appliance.

Keep the right records

Failed items and any repairs or retests need attention separately. Keep the results as part of the equipment maintenance arrangements.
